ANSWER

|A| means A’s determinant. For a 2×2 matrix it’s easy:

|A| = 3(-1) – 2(5) = -13.

Do you know how to find the determinant of any n x n matrix? If not, time to look it up. 🙂

how to find the determinant of n*n matrix? Is that the same way as to find 2*2 matrix: time all the elements from the upper-left to the lower-right minus the product of all elements from the upper-right to the lower-left?
